What’s new at Teen Talk?

Hello Friends,

I wanted to tell you all about the newest updates to Teen Talk. We recently moved to a new office location affording us an opportunity to see more teens. We expanded! I am now seeing teens and their families Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Over the summer, there is a flexibility of scheduling for individual sessions.

Let's talk about what will be happening in the fall.

In the fall, we will begin offering new services to families and the community. Thursdays will also be reserved for my new teen lifestyle group.

Services:

Individual Therapy Family Therapy Teen Girl Lifestyle Groups Co-Parenting Mediation Sessions Intensive Teen Therapy Session Suicide Assessment Service Descriptions

Individual Therapy: A session with just the therapist and client exploring emotional barriers in everyday life. Family Therapy: A session that has 2 or more people present to explore systemic relational issues that are impacting emotional wellness and behavior. Family sessions are usually in conjunction with individual teen therapy sessions and the frequency varies per family. Teen Girl Lifestyle Groups: A small closed group for girls to connect with other girls around relevant topics impacting their daily lives. This group will run for 6 weeks at a time. A great option for teens that need a structured environment to build social skills. Co-parenting Mediation Sessions: This service is for parents that are struggling to co-parent effectively through a relational transition. This service will work best with a minimum of 3 sessions. A plan will be created by the end of the third session. Intensive Teen Therapy Session: This service is best for a teen that may be experiencing a high level of emotional distress and needs more time to explore their feelings. This is not a consistent service. Teen Suicide Assessments: This service is to be utilized if you are concerned that your teen is suicidal, and an assessment is requested by school, camp or an outside source. This service will allow the therapist to assess the level of suicidality and self-injury. A recommendation will be provided once the assessment is completed.

I wanted to make sure you knew what was happening before any announcements were made. Group sign-ups are open. If you would like your daughter to be a member of the group, feel free to email me. Groups are a cost-effective option for emotional support while offering a structured social space.

If you are interested in any of the other services, feel free to email me for more information. I am already excited to meet you.

With love,

Jaynay C. Johnson, MFT
